It’s the beginning of a new era for Blue Jays fans and with the signing of former Red Sox Pitching Coach John Ferrell but who will open up on the mound for the Jays come game time? With the GM of the franchise fast becoming famous for pulling the trigger on trades with his starting pitchers, there is no guarantee that Ricky Romero will take the mound in a Jays uniform.
The organization recently lost INF Brad Emaus to the Mets as part of the Rule 5 draft. GM Alex Anthopoulos said his staff was prepared for Emaus to go. "We knew that there was a high probability that we would lose him," Anthopoulos said. "At the same time, you have to go with your scouts and your player-development staff. I know it's a compliment to the organization when you start running out of 40-man spots."
